Bayer Corporation and Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Company have signed an agreement to create an integrated site for polymer production in China. The $3.1 billion project combines several individual production facilities into a network that will share infrastructure, raw materials and technologies. At the heart of the agreement are permits for the three core projects to manufacture coatings systems, thermoplastics and polyurethane raw materials.
First in line for the new Bayer site in Caojing, China is a project to manufacture colorants and coatings systems for use in automotive, construction and furniture manufacture.
